Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday said Operation Sindoor was Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam.”
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shah said, “The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” he added.
India on Wednesday hit nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, targeting terrorist infrastructure there. The strike comes two weeks after the terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, in which 26 people were killed.

Days after the terror attack, Shah had said that they will hunt down each and every perpetrator of the terror attack and no one will be spared. “The Modi government has been pursuing a zero-tolerance policy against terrorists. If someone thinks they will escape by carrying out such a cowardly attack, they are wrong. This is Narendra Modi’s government. We will not spare anyone,” he added.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi constantly monitored the Operation Sindoor throughout the night.
This development follows a series of high-level meetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Navy chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, IAF chief Air Chief Marshal A P Singh to discuss operational preparedness and retaliatory options on the table.
